The Specialization Model of Network Growth.
This is a presentation I gave at the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Research Conference. This presents the contributions I made to the study we performed on network specialization. Traditionally researchers can study the dynamics or structure of a network separately, but our study was creating a way to study both at the same time.
Using specialization algorithms designed by a fellow researcher, I used the college research super computer to parallelize implementations of the algorithm and then analyzed how the algorithm affected network structure and dynamics over time. I created visualizations of the networks and their properties to demonstrate that the algorithm is creating networks with structures similar to real-world ones.
